The town flourished as a major copper producer.  The furnishings reflect the rich traditions found under the leadership of the Phelps Dodge throughout Arizona while emphasizing the Corporation until the mine's closure in peaceful and relaxing ambiance of southwestern 1985. Since then, the town has rapidly living. The pride of the Inn is its stately dining room become a refuge for winter visitors and built by local craftsmen during the 1920's. outdoor enthusiasts. A two hour drive from Phoenix and Tucson, the town is easily accessible via well maintained highways.
